Personal statement:  

Specialising in womenswear, my work features prints and designs developed from original sources of inspiration for a variety of brand levels.

SKINHEAD X ALL SAINTS

Originating in the 1960s, original Skinhead images inspire this collection for All Saints. The film ‘This is England’ heavily influences the colour direction for this collection. Fabrics such as denims and cotton shirting are used in the collection following inspiration from Skinhead imagery. Gingham and checked shirts are inspired by shirting in ‘This is England’. Oversized silhouettes are given a feminine update with features such as tucks and gathers.

CONSTRUCT X STONE ISLAND

Construction forms the inspiration for this collection for Stone Island. Silhouettes are inspired by workwear and print direction is informed by scaffolding. Colours are neutral with hints of fluorescent orange and yellow. Heavy fabrics such as denims used for dungarees and boilersuits contrast with lighter ripstop fabrics used for jackets.

SKA X MARGARET HOWELL

Inspired by the SKA movement from the 1960s/70s, this collection for Margaret Howell includes checks, pinstripes and houndstooth using colour inspiration from ‘Quadrophenia’ to give an updated look. Oversized silhouettes are inspired by original images, largely following the music scene at the time, photographs of bands such as ‘The Specials’ are heavily influential on the mood of the collection.
