Roberta Morrow

My name is Roberta Morrow and I study structured textiles design. This collection is inspired by how materials within architecture manipulates sound and distorts acoustics. Following from an interiors collection; this series of knitted forms is designed for couture high fashion. It will directly compare the ideas of sound transparency and sound density. The aesthetic that comes with modern technologies of sound manipulation will be apparent through intricate visual research which directly translates to knitted forms. Sophisticated forms structure and materials will be a key focus of this collection. Control over your own personal environment is an interesting area of discussion within this collection. Is having personal control over everyday sound pollution through garment design better than controlling sound pollution through built environments? I hope to further my research and move this collection into bio-design looking at how biomaterials can promote sound manipulation.
