Whilst studying Textile Design at the University of Leeds, I decided to specialise in Digital and Printed Textile Design because of the various opportunities available in a new technology-based industry; and my love for interior and fashion prints.

Studying Textiles and print design as a specialism has truly motivated me to pursue this creative avenue as a career. I am keen to get involved within this industry and take part in the design process from a professional prospective. I am confident in the repeat pattern process from initial research to the final outcome and I take pride in spending time on the finer details and enjoy expressing myself using materials and textiles.

Whilst acquiring creative skills such as embroidery and beadwork to enhance my surface manipulations, I have also acquired the critical observational skills required when working with digital design software such as, Adobe Photoshop and Ned Graphics. Experimentation is at the heart of my inventive explorations; studying the current trends of many artists and designers, translating this into my own work by investigating the pattern structure and qualities to create final prints for both interior and fashion application.

Flora and Fauna lie at the heart of my creative explorations; there is scope for traditional and contemporary prints to be made using floral and natural forms. I enjoy researching new ways to make art that can be built into prints, including traditional methods such as gouache paints and block printing, to digitally drawn art. Both methods hold strong places within the print design industry, which is why I have a passion for this specialism as there is no limit to what can be achieved in print design.
