Bosse is a luxury maternity hire platform for pregnant women across the UK which has been developed and designed as a direct reaction to the under representation of luxury fashion in the maternity fashion market sector in the UK. A heightened demand for on-trend, maternity specific or bump-friendly fashion styles for pregnant women, inspired and led the evolution of the Bosse concept. Bosse is a convenience led e-commerce fashion hire website and app, which aims to support and empower expectant mothers, by providing luxury styles for each unique fashion preference and trimester demand. In addition, recognising the impeding impacts of throw-away fashion in the UK – with the UK having the highest textile disposal rates in Europe – Bosse is a financially sustainable and environmentally responsible alternative to consuming maternity and bump-friendly luxury fashion in the UK, by hiring desired fashion styles. A year’s experience working within the digital e-commerce team at luxury fashion brand Phase Eight, aided in the extensive planning and development process of the Bosse hire platform, including the design of the Bosse product listing pages and the app development, as well as the projected business strategies. Four marketing strategies to promote and develop the Bosse brand and hire concept were planned in-depth, which consisted of brand and product development, the Bosse launch event, the Bosse collaboration (Mother of Pearl x Bosse maternity workwear collection) and the Bosse drop event, with the drop event designed for existing mothers to donate pre-loved maternity and bump-friendly styles to be re-purchased through Bosse platforms, to continue and encourage responsible, circular consumerism. Each Bosse concept and marketing strategy has been designed with the brand values and target consumer in mind.
