A recent graduate graphic designer with two years’ experience working in the industry for a campaign design studio, with knowledge and insight into both brand development and application, across a wide range of mediums. The work exhibited here looks at through typographic application and creation, branding design and motion graphics.

01 Mad Hatter Energy Tea: The Mad Hatter looked to combine two industries that normally supply opposite wants; relaxation and high energy activity. The video therefore looked to emphasise an aspect of teas representation, ‘British-ness’, in an active manner characteristic of the energy drink industry. The video was created predominantly as a digitally hand-drawn frame by frame animation, with some elements animated through frame interpolation.

02 / 03 Leeds in Type: The self-pride of the city of Leeds was polled by YouGov to by 9th out of the top 10 largest cities in the country. This social campaign looked at creating a participatory design campaign that would serve to both improve this pride at to celebrate the heritage of the city. This is shown through a custom typeface that collates and creates a visual identity sourced from the community it represents. This typeface is then applied to a design framework used by the public to start a grass-roots movement for social change, allowing the local community give voice to the issues that matter to them, in their own words, while representing a wider cohesive movement.

04 Evonguarde: This project looked at the often dubious natures of propagandic messaging, examining how a social message, in this case physical parity, can be co-opted to sell products.
