Robert McCrorie

After completing my 4-year course at the University of Leeds, with a year in industry, I have developed my design and research skills preparing me for my first design role. My skillset includes UI/UX, Branding, Animation, photography and illustration which I have developed during various projects, both in the university and out. After working at Bolser for 18 months as a design intern I helped to deliver high-quality creative solutions to clients such as Microsoft, Battersea Power Station, KFC and many more global brands. Designing Mobile-first digital products with prioritisation for accessibility has allowed me to expand my knowledge tenfold in the digital industry. Working both individually and as part of the wider studio team has allowed me to solve problems efficiently and effectively. I was able to nurture existing skills through various design software, within the Adobe Suite, Sketch and prototyping apps through Invision. My time at the University of Leeds saw the completion of my dissertation which focused on links between creative output and accessibility concerning web design. I am proactive in seeking out briefs that pique my interest. In particular a D&AD brief from Barclays to design a banking solution for people with mental health issues. As well as my independent project which aims to reduce callouts to Mountian Rescue through means of community-based navigation, educating travellers, and if needed an efficient callout process. I have used my time at university to the fullest and now feel I am well equipped to deal with any problem industry throws at me.
