As a designer I am interested in using my creativity to communicate and discuss real life issues,  many that affect myself and others around me in a contemporary and exciting manner. I tend to draw a lot of inspiration for projects from personal experience, and feel that when I have a personal connection to a subject I am able to create in a superior way. I try to show my personality through my designs, through the colours I use and the style of images I create – constantly taking reference from a spectrum of artists and designers I like.

My project ‘Cold Side of the Pillow’, is a creative awareness campaign for the impact of personal technology use before bed on sleep, whilst also celebrating the importance of healthy sleep. It was created to generate attention and discussion around a really important issue, particularly affecting students like me, and help to communicate the different ways in which others can make changes to their sleep.

The project featured a printed zine, which explored creative typography and collage as a means of communicating the human impacts of poor sleep, a style which was continued across a set of three posters to help raise awareness for the campaign. Animation was also explored to communicate the importance of sleep, allowing the campaign to be accessible on multiple platforms.
